Privacy policy

Last updated 29 August 2026

1. Our approach

Human Media Group is an Australian sole-trader business (HMG, we, us). We respect your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, hold, use and disclose personal information in connection with our website, enquiries and services. We aim to handle personal information in a manner informed by the Australian Privacy Principles contained in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

2. Information we may collect

Depending on how you deal with us, we may collect:

  • your name, business, role, email address and phone number;
  • campaign briefs, correspondence and records of our dealings with you;
  • billing, supplier and service-administration information;
  • mailing, audience or campaign data supplied by a client for an agreed service; and
  • technical information generated when you use the website, such as device, browser, approximate location and access-log information.

The quote form on this website is not currently connected, so information entered into it is not submitted to HMG. We will review this policy and any collection notice before enabling online submissions.

3. How we collect and use information

We generally collect information directly from you, from an organisation you represent, from a client that engages us, or automatically through our website infrastructure. We use it to respond to enquiries, prepare and administer proposals, plan and deliver services, coordinate suppliers and distribution partners, manage business relationships, improve our website and operations, protect our systems, and comply with legal obligations.

If a client provides mailing or audience data, we use that information to perform the agreed service and in accordance with the client’s lawful instructions. Clients remain responsible for ensuring they are entitled to provide the information and use it for the campaign purpose.

4. Disclosure

We may disclose relevant information to postal, distribution, print, freight, data-processing and other specialist partners where reasonably necessary to quote, plan or perform a service. We may also disclose information to technology providers, professional advisers, insurers, regulators, law-enforcement bodies, or where disclosure is required or authorised by law.

We do not sell personal information.

5. Technology providers

We use, or may engage, service providers in categories that include:

  • website hosting, infrastructure, security and access management;
  • business email, communications and enquiry management;
  • customer relationship management and campaign administration;
  • cloud storage, document collaboration and business records;
  • data hygiene, segmentation, targeting and geographic planning;
  • website analytics and performance monitoring; and
  • payments, invoicing and professional business services.

Not every category is currently in use. We will review this policy as HMG selects and introduces its operating systems, and we will only provide information reasonably necessary for each provider’s role.

6. Overseas processing

Some technology or service providers may process or store information outside Australia. The locations can vary by provider. Where an overseas disclosure occurs, we will take reasonable steps appropriate to the circumstances and, where practicable, provide current information about likely countries on request.

7. Cookies and website data

Our website or hosting providers may use essential cookies and similar technologies for security, functionality and access management. We do not currently use the website for behavioural advertising. If analytics or additional cookies are introduced, we will update our notices where required.

8. Security and retention

We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. We retain information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purpose for which it was collected, our business records, dispute resolution and legal obligations, then destroy or de-identify it where appropriate.

9. Access, correction and complaints

You may ask to access or correct personal information we hold about you, or raise a privacy concern, using the contact details published on this website. Please describe your request and provide enough information for us to verify your identity. We will respond within a reasonable period and explain any lawful reason if access or correction cannot be provided.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner through oaic.gov.au.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our services, systems or legal obligations change. The current version will be published here with its effective date.
